My NCAA Football Letter - Week 4September 25, 2009Week 3 recap: I do not know what is more impressive. Miami going from unranked to #9 or Washington going from a 0-12 season to being ranked. USC went 0 for 10 on third down conversions. The game played like a classic Big Ten defensive struggle. Wonderful entertainment! MSU does not = Big Ten dark horse anymore. O yeah, apparently the TN coach did get to FL for the first half. Then Tebow realized who he was and once again won the game and then ran for president and won. Week 4: Where is College Gameday gonna be this weekend? That's right, the happiest of all the valleys. Booya! More on that later. Conference play, conference play, conference play, conference play! Games to watch: South Florida@(18)FSU: SF has been decimating the cupcakes and this is a huge road game for them to prove themselves. They start off the season strong, but then lose it towards the end. This is an early game and lets face it, Penn Staters love to see Bobby lose and JoePa win. (6)CAL@Oregon: Why is this game important? If PSU goes undefeated, but FL and TX also go undefeated, then PSU is going to the Rose Bowl, no discussion. The other team that goes to the Rose Bowl if the FL/TX scenario becomes true, is the winner of the PAC-10. This weekend CAL plays Oregon, which they should win. Next weekend they play USC, which will be a good game. Now here's the fun part, CAL's last conference game is against Washington. Let's say USC beats CAL but then CAL beats Washington and all of them only lose 1 conference game (assuming Washington runs the conference table until that point.) That will make for some interesting BCS decisions. All three teams have technically defeated each other by association. Neat! (9)Miami@(11)VT: Miami is on a roll and I believe they will win. Iowa@(5)PSU: The revenge game. The team that kept us from the perfect record. It's a home game. It's prime time. College Gameday is there. It's a Whiteout. The mighty Nittany Lions, the best they've ever seen! We Are! |
